David Perron and Brayden Schenn scored in a shootout Tuesday to give the St. Louis Blues a 5-4 victory over Vegas. Pacioretty got his seventh career hat trick for the Golden Knights, who were without their entire coaching staff because of COVID-19 concerns. The Golden Knights were 1 for 6 with a man advantage and are 3 of 26 (11.5%) this season.
Vegas signs Alex Pietrangelo to $61.6M, seven-year contract

Pietrangelo signed a $61.6 million, seven-year deal with Vegas on Monday that carries an $8.8 million annual salary cap hit through 2027. Before registering Pietrangelo's contract, the Golden Knights traded defenseman Nate Schmidt to the Vancouver Canucks for a 2022 third-round pick, clearing his $5.95 million cap hit off the books. The 30-year-old leaves the St. Louis Blues after serving as captain of their 2019 Stanley Cup championship team.
Canucks cruise to 5-2 win over Vegas, even series 1-1
Tanner Pearson also scored for Vancouver, and Jacob Markstrom stopped 38 shots including 21 in the second period. It was the first game back for Toffoli since the first game of the qualifying round against Minnesota on Aug. 2. Toffoli, standing behind the net, delivered a tape-to-tape pass to an incoming Horvat, who blasted it past Lehner. Horvat scored his second goal by taking Brock Boeser's backhanded pass in front and tucking it past Lehner for his eighth playoff goal. Pearson added the final Vancouver goal into an empty net.
Mantha scores late, Red Wings beat Golden Knights 3-2
Anthony Mantha scored with 30.9 seconds left to give the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 comeback victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday night. Andreas Athanasiou and defenseman Madison Bowey also scored and Jonathan Bernier made 17 saves to help the Red Wings win their second straight games. Pacioretty gave Vegas a 2-1 lead 9:04 into the second period with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle. Vegas had three and the Red Wings two. Red Wings: At Anaheim on Tuesday night.
