Red Wings sign Michael Rasmussen to 4-year extension

The Detroit Red Wings and forward Michael Rasmussen have agreed to a new four-year contract extension.

The Red Wings said the contract has an average annual value of $3.2 million.

Rasmussen, 24, has played in 55 games with the Red Wings during the 2023-24 season, recording 23 points (11-12-23). The 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward has reached double-digits in goals in each of the last three seasons.

Rasmussen was drafted No. 9 overall by the Red Wings in 2017, and made his NHL debut in October of 2018.
